In the ECE program children are introduced to religion through morning and afternoon prayer, celebrating different Saints’ days, Bible stories and brief meditations on Psalms.

Focus

The ECE program is play based, complimentary to the preschool and pre-k programs to encourage and support the social, emotional, physical and spiritual development of the child. Children have the opportunity to enjoy free play, eat meals and snacks, participate in large and small group activities, spend gross motor time on our playground, etc.

Special Activities

In the ECE program we participate with the larger school community in activities like track-a-thon, mission days, Catholic Schools Week and assemblies.

Teachers have an education in comprehensive childcare, early childhood development and appropriate practices as well as curriculum-specific training and certifications. All Early Childhood Education staff have certified training (First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, Essentials and Mandatory Child Abuse reporting). All staff are required to maintain qualifications with annual continuous training hours.

If you have any questions or want to learn more about our programming, contact Jessica Riemenschneider, Early Childhood Education Extended Care Director, at jriemenschneider@saintfrancisschool.org . We would love to have your child be a part of the ECE program!
